How to Adopt & Adoption Form
How to Adopt?
To adopt one of our cats, simply email, call or complete a cat enquiry form through the cats adoption page.
Then we will contact you and send our branch adoption form, from this we can match suitablity of the cats for you.
Once this has been done a home visit can be completed, this is a very information visit to give you more information and answer any questions you may have about settling a cat into your home.
Once a home visit has been completed you are then free to visit and adopt any suitable cats/kittens.
Please remember we do not have a adoption centre to visit and so the process above must be complete before our cats can be visited.
Further information can be found below about each of these stages.

Due to our limited resources, we can only rehome in our local area - Canterbury and its surrounding rural areas, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Faversham and surrounding areas, unless a home check via another CP branch or animal welfare organisation can be arranged. With co-operation from other branches and by having some loyal volunteers just outside our area (perhaps while reading this you may consider becoming a Home visitor Volunteer? We have rehomed cats and kittens further afield, so it is worth contacting us, but sometimes it just is not possible Adoption Fee
Our adoption fee is £60 for all cats and kittens. Download the ADOPTION FEE LEAFLET CP Welfare Standards
Prior to rehoming, all cats and kittens are vet checked, flea and wormed, blood tested (if appropriate), vaccinated including for FeLV (unless we have been given veterinary advice not too) neutered and microchipped (if they are old enough). This costs us around £150.00 per cat or kitten, and can be more if other treatment is required. All cats & kittens rehomed by us (with no maximum age limit) come with four weeks free insurance cover, this costs you nothing, but gives you some peace of mind during the first few weeks that you take on a cat or kitten. Advice and Support
We will carry out a Follow-up phone call a few after homing just to ensure that everyone is happy before completion, but we are of course still available afterwards, to offer any help and assistance. Just give us a call.
